Hi,
I'm looking at installing a wireless network, and was wondering what the
advantages/disadvantages are of using either PCI or USB wireless network
adapters for desktop computers.

Any help would be much appreciated
Luke

A PCI wireless card is more efficient with CPU cycles, but a USB adapter can
be used with an extension cable, so that it can be located for better
performance.

FWIW
I have several Linksys WUSB11 adaptors in use and like them. They have a
long cable that allows repositioning for best signal. They work on Windoz 98
on up and have a mounting plate if desired. I also have three WMP11 PCI
cards that I only use one of currently. I like the flexibility of the USB
units far better that the PCI cards I have used as the PCI cards are
shielded somewhat by the computer case it's self.
