PCI to PCMCIA adapter PC99

I installed a PCI to PCMCIA adapter card into my desktop so I could then use
my wireless card to access my wireless network. I understand that the
adapter I installed is PC99 compliant and that if you have a PC with ISA
slots then the adapter will not work. Does anybody have any insight to this
or what options exist with respect to be able to use this adapter?

Just a guess, but it's possible the device used on your new adapter card does
"subtractive decode" of PCI address space to determine when it should claim a
transaction.

Most South Bridges include a PCI-to-ISA bridge, and most (if not all) South
Bridges do subtractive decode.

But as you can only have one subtractive-decoding agent on a PCI bus, your
card wouldn't play nice with most (if not all) South Bridges.
