PCI card as access point (internet server)?

First off, newby here so I apologize if this has been answered before.

My PC is currently hooked up to a VPN, and I want to be able to share
the internet connection wirelessly with my laptop. Any suggestions
for using a wireless PCI card to share an internet connection?

I'm currently running '98SE (yeah yeah, I know), and I haven't yet
purchased any wireless equipment. Suggestions on PCI/PCMCIA
cards/brands would be great. I'd like to run an a/b/g network.

Very likely the VPN software will not allow you to do anything else with
your network connection. When I am on VPN, I can't even print to my
home network attached printer.

Just a thought. Did you try unchecking use remote gateway in your vpn
settings? By using your local gateway you should be able to print to a
local networked printer.

As you say, may depend on the software. Certainly with the MS supplied
VPN solutions, there's no such problem as this Clarence. I can access
stuff both at home or at work.
