| Linksys DSL 8 port 10/100 Router
| This PC does have access to the internet.
| This PC can access the server and other PCs via drive
| mappings assigned previously to the problem.
| Network Card set to unique ID
| Default Gateway pointed to DSL router
| Preferred DNS pointed to server address
|
| Problem:
| PC1 lost partial access other computers VIA My computer -
| My Network Places, Entire Network, Microsoft Windows
| Network, Domain,
|
| A little background first. Everything on this network
| was functioning just fine and everyone could access
| everything they were supposed to. One day PC1 lost
| partial access. Any drives that were mapped from or to
| PC1 are still working and can be accessed. Only
| accessing through explore or my computer results in the
| error message "Domain is not accessible, You might not
| have permissions to use this network resource. Contact
| the administrator of this server to find out if you have
| access permissions. The list of severs for this
| workgroup is not currently available"
|
| This is a domain server and PC1 is a member of the domain
| and not a workgroup. If I log into the server as
| administrator I cannot access PC1 in this method but can
| access it through previously mapped drives.
|
| I am wondering if there is a problem with active
| directory. Can you uninstall and install active
| directory without wiping out everyone's profiles on the
| other PCs?
