i had ZA 4.5 or something

had it rigged up with my wireless network for ICS

upgrade to ZA 5.5 i rig it up exactly the same change all the required
settings in ZA and it works sometimes but occasionally on my laptop
(wireless network)

the pages cannot load and it appears i have no internet connectivity

the lan is fine i can ping back and forth between desktop n laptop, its
rigged as a p2p network

dont have a clue whats causing it to feck up

when i close ZA on the PC (gateway) it works

As clear as mud.Are you using ZA Free on both machines?
Is one set up as a gateway and the other as a client of the gateway and
are the correct IP addresses in the "Gateway "address of each firewall?
Is your "Gateway" PC included in the trusted zone in your Client Laptop?

They should not have the same IP address, the client probably will be
192.168.0.1 but the Gateway will be the IP from your ISP.

Do a ipconfig /all and check the IP's as per the link in
earlier post.

ok

DESKTOP PC
IP ADDRESS: 192.168.0.1

connects to the net througha usb ADSL modem

ZA Settings

This computer Is an ICS/NAT Gateway

Local address: 192.168.0.1

LAPTOP PC
IP ADDRESS: 192.168.0.x (obtained automatically)

ZA Settings

This computer is a client of an ICS/NAT gateway running zone Alarm Pro

Gateway address 192.168.0.1

thats how its configured, the net works fine sometimes, i can surf and
everything on the laptop, but occasionally, well 99% of the time, after 20
minutes of surfing it becomes http://www.whatever.com page could not be
loaded

as if there is no internet connectivity

I check the network and try to ping 192.168.0.1 and get a goo 100% reply
rate whatever handles i add to the ping

i then come upstairs, shutdown ZA Pro on the Desktop PC and everything is
fine on the laptop, i can surf again, however now my desktop pc will be
subject to god knows what without any firewall

this is pretty odd behavior if you ask me, i have it all rigged up the same
as i did when i had ZA Pro 4.5 installed and back then i never had a problem
surfing the web, just after upgrading the 5.5.062.11 Pro that i get this
problem

so can anyone help me pinpoint what is causing this trouble?

Laptop PC
