This might get a little long winded, so please bear with
me
My connection sort of craps out. It's connected but i
can't access web pages and i get continous buffer errors
in external programs (ie. IRC) after a certain amount of
time. I'm able to ping out though. I've tried and tested a
few different settings, none of which have worked.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled raspppoe + dial up
networking/winsock keys in registry with the winsock2fix.
I specified IP to 192.168.0.1./255.255.255.0 and my
connection crapped out after 70 hours.
Used DHCP for WINS Resolution and connection crapped out
after 96 hours.
Changed registry setting here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD\MS
TCP\MaxConnections
To 300 instead of the default 100 and connection crapped
out after 106 hours.
Now here's where things get funny, if i exit out of a
single browser window right now, the buffer errors in
external programs disappear. If i disconnect from a server
in the external program, web pages start loading fine.
It's like they're both fighting over the last socket/port.
I think i'm onto something, not sure what. Any suggestions
or help would be very much appreciated
