Overcoming Administrator permission

I have LAN internet connectivity, but when I try to share
files to the public, I am getting a 401 error that says,
401 -- Website blocked by the Administrator.

*(I have a dynamic IP resolved to a static IP which
monitors by local dynamic IP, and re-routes as
necessary). But, it is functioning, and does ping back to
my local server.

I am able to access the website on my local through
http://myhost/mywebsite.com
The website is located
but when trying to access remotely, I get the 401 error
code.

I thought I had removed all firewalls and had given
permissions to all. Basically, I lowered all the walls I
know of to try to test this.

Any ideas ?

Ed,

What is between the server and the internet?

You said you have a dynamic IP resolved to a static ip
which monitors by local dynamic IP and re-routes as
necessary....what do you mean? Do you mean you have a
DNS provider that is mapping your domain name to your
dynamic ISP provided IP address?

Pinging it won't necessarily give you a accurate test, as
the first host that is "translating" or NAT'ing the IP
will probably responde to the IP request.

My guess is that you need to setup your device that is
between your web server and your external IP to forward
all HTTP requests to your internal server. Then find out
what the IP address of the device between the web server
and the internet is. Browse to that IP address. My
guess is it will.

Then update your dynamic dns providers info with that IP
and your off and running using your domain name.

Have fun,

Tim
