The following is the output from pinging in an MS-DOS window. What does
it mean?

John Mason

C:\ping www.comcast.net

Pinging www.comcast.net [204.127.205.8] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 204.127.205.8: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=53
Reply from 204.127.205.8: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=53
Reply from 204.127.205.8: bytes=32 time=40ms TTL=53
Reply from 204.127.205.8: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=53

Ping statistics for 204.127.205.8:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 34ms, Maximum = 40ms, Average = 38ms

In the broadest sense its good.

You pinged COMCAST and it returned each of the 4 packets sent.

It took 34 milliseconds, then 39, 40 and finally 39 to return the
pings. These times are respective.
