OUtlook problem

When I try to download my messages. Outlook can't establish a connection with
the server. Yet, my other pc, which uses the same router, has no problem
connecting and downloading. The first pc has norton internet security
installed. the latter has avg. I also checked wether my firewall does not
allow Outlook to connect to the internet, and it seems is allowed to connect.
Can anybody help??

Try to telnet on port 110 (for POP) to the full POP server name.

In a command prompt:

telnet mail.server.com 110 <enter>

See if you get a banner - if not, you have a network (connectivity, name
resolution, firewall, etc) problem.
