Hi all:

I have a Network Everywhere (linksys) Wireless (B) 2.4 ghz Cable/DSL router
with 4 port switch into one computer and a Linksys Wireless-G PCI adapter on
another.

The problem is every now and again the computer with the router is unable to
load my ISP's homepage, and at the same time cannot send/receive emails. I
unhook and unplug the router, pull the ac adapter on the cable modem, set up
the mocdem directly to this computer and restart the computer and
(sometimes) the internet works, and (sometimes) I am able to hook the router
back up and all is well. There doen't seem to be a winning "combination"of
unplug this, plug in that, power down this, reset that....

There was something on network everywhere's webpage about "pinging" the
ISP's webpage, but even when both computers are able to access the internet
I cannot ping any webpage I try! I emailed tech support at network
everywhere but its been a week, no response!

Can anyone help me out there??

TIA

J5

I bet it conisides with your ISP renewing your lease on your IP.

Ask your ISP for a static IP to add to the router.

Failing that find out when they renew and reboot the router.

Sounds to me that you have a hardware problem with either the modem going
out or the router is defective to begin with. I would look at having the
equipment replaced. Also, you may want to invest in a UPS so that the
devices have good clean from spikes and brownouts of electricity. The
devices don't like bad power.
