My DLINK DIR 655 is crashing once a day, I'm pretty sure they screwed up
the firmware with there last release (the firmware is not downgradable so
that's not an option). I tried a Belkin Wireless N+ router but it was
complete crap so I returned it. Looking at the reviews on Newegg doesn't
inspire confidence in any current router so I'm asking for suggestions
here. I need gigabit ethernet, Wireless N, port and DNS forwarding, DHCP
reservations, good performance and reliability. The DLINK met all of
those requirements except reliability. Please make suggestions.

I use the Netgear WNR854T, and it meets all of those criteria. Been
using it for a few months, and picked up 2 of them for $29.99 each.
Not a single problem since install.

Those don't seem to be available anymore, the current product has
terrible reviews on Newegg, apparently they are very unreliable.

I've not had any problems, but that's OK, any of the Netgears should
have similar support. I bought these as factory refurbs, which is why
they were so cheap, and I bought 2 because I like having a
hot-swappable spare around... ;-)

I just ordered a Trendnet from Newegg, hopefully it will do the job.
