OT:Squirrel Mail & Spam

When I log into my email account via webmail I usually have a lot of
spam. Some of it is highlighted in bold which means it's unread but
some of it isn't even though I know I haven't opened it (as it's often
new). Is there any other way an email could appear unread when it
hasn't been read? Would Spamseive 'read' an email when it's deciding
whether or not it's spam and would marking the subject as spam change
the read status?

Thanks.

If the sender is for some reason setting a "Status:" header (and the local
mail delivery setup isn't stripping it out) then it's possible a "Status:
RO" header could be being included to suppress the highlighting of the
message as being new.
