Try Cybercorder 2000 from http://skyhawktech.com/?c14300

Not free, but reasonably priced and does what it says on the tin.

I use Waverepair (www.waverepair.com) - it's not really what it's designed
for but it works, although it saves as .wav rather than .mp3 but there are
lots of free utilities to do the conversion.

Net transport from http://www.xi-soft.com/default.htm does the BBC real
audio as well then convert to mp3

Can't suggest something simpler than mplayer but this works for me, assuming
you've downloaded the correct .ram file:

#!/bin/bash
#usage: getReal file.ram outputfile
mplayer -dumpstream -playlist $1 -dumpfile $2.ra
mplayer $2.ra -ao pcm:file=$2.wav -vc null -vo null
lame $2.wav $2.mp3
rm $2.ra $2.wav

I'm sure it can be improved and doesn't require the two-stage pass through
mplayer but I don't/didn't care enough at the time.

Streambox VCR handles realmedia. Replay Music can capture anything
thats being passed thru the soundcard.

Trouble with total recorder is you have to 'listen' to the program to record
it. Steambox downloads the file, takes me under a minute to get a 2 hour
program.

However streambox is sometimes a bit more fiddle to make it work.

You are obviously in more of a hurry to get your MP3s than I am. :-)
