I'm getting error messages along the lines of 'rejected
username/password' when I try to get my email via pop.dial.pipex.com.
No longer have a reliable phone number or email address for whatever
passes as 'Pipex Support' these days. Can anyone help, either with
possible explanation (widespread server problem?) or a phone/email
contact please?

Look at their web site. No one can call them for you unless you give all
your personal
details and passwords out.

Thanks Brian. One of the phone numbers I tried (0871 222 5550)
eventually got me to a support person (surprisingly based in Manilla,
Philippines), who told me that there had been many calls about email.

As of 5 minutes ago, I still have the problem - how about you or
others?

08:41 Friday 24

The problems seem to be very peculiar, friends 1 and 2 gets the reject
password. (adsl mail server) direct on pipex

Friend 3 gets in OK (dial mail server) but uses zen adsl for access

All can get in via webmail

I have a program that enables me to look into mail boxes for them, all
3 fail login, access via zen adsl !

What a pain in the ......... they had problems couple of weeks ago,
totally incompetant company, who the hell would want to buy them.

Thanks Bob, appreciate the feedback. At least I'm not alone! I tried
via my DialSpace Eweb too, but that failed as well at the login stage.

I left Pipex a couple of weeks ago, so when my email finally stopped working about
three days ago I thought it was a reult of leaving. That seemed fair enough. But my
symptoms sound very similar, so maybe I'll eventually get access to my 300+ spam a
day Pipex mailbox again?

Mmmm... then again, maybe I'm not that bothered. :-)

Brian,

I just subscribed to that group and got the most recent 500 headers,

My broadband is with BT but I've had an email account with Pipex for
maybe two decades.

Sorry Michael, I don't follow, can you amplify please? My user account
name for my Pipex email is a simple 4 character string like AB12, no
'%' signs!
