My PC is some way from the main house telephone and I sometimes miss
that the phone is ringing.

Does anyone know of any software that will display an alert on your
monitor screen when your phone is ringing?

Thanks.

Andi.

I'm sure there is such a thing but I don't understand why you don't
just plug a cheap phone into the socket that's by your PC. Cheaper and
easier?

Yeah, there is, do you have a modem in the PC? Is it running XP?

Err, perhaps he's on a wireless router......

But yes, I suspect it would be cheaper to install an extension kit from a
DIY shed - even if it only drove a ringer.

Maybe if you take the filter off the phone, the dsl connection will drop
when it rings :-}

I'm assuming you're meant to turn on the fax monitor so that when the
phone rings an alert will pop up on the screen asking if you want to
answer the call as a fax. I think it's audible too.
