I've been running a few CAT6 cables recently which *just* fit inside the
standard RJ45 connectors I use (it's a close thing, but they go). It's
only slightly more than CAT5 cable so there's no point using CAT5/5e
IMO.
However I've seen a lot of really cheap CAT7 cable available now, so
that also seems like a no brainer, providing I can actually get some
acceptable RJ45 connectors and wall jacks.
Does anyone knows of any retail, not ridiculously expensive, CAT7 (or
CAT 6e) shielded/grounded connectors and jacks? I can't seem to find
any.
There's no way CAT7 is going to fit in my standard RJ45's, and I'd also
like to do it properly and make sure the grounding foil is linked up to
a proper grounded/screens connector and jack. So not just the bog
standard plastic only connectors.
I'd really like to go CAT7 if I can find a way to terminate it properly.
And I don't really want to half-ass it.
