If anyone is considering buying any goods from Ebuyer, think again. I am
currently waiting for a resolve of missing items in my order after almost
one month since the order was placed. They rarely answer any communications
from customers, and their 0845 line cuts you off immediately after wasting
your money on the call, constanly reporting that the line is busy and
advising you to try again later (I've made over 30 calls to this number, and
still not managed to get to speak to anyone.... sometimes it will keep you
on the line for 15 to 30 minutes, suggesting that you are in a queing
system, before cutting you off, thus wasting even more money for you

You have been warned. Steer clear of Ebuyer, I wouldn't like to think that
you get caiught up in their mess, as I have done.

I don't think its acceptable to have to wait a month to resolve a problem
like this.....

Phew, thanks. I was just about to place my, give or take, 20th order
with ebuyer, but now i've read that, i'll ignore the 20ish times they've
given me nothing but good service and just go on your one lonely rant.

Again, cheers!

They've always been OK when I've used them - delivery has been a day before
the expected delivery date.

Wouldn't touch them again after they wanted to charge an extra £15, in
*addition* to standard postage, to deliver a £20 pen drive here in Northern
Ireland.

Ah, an eBuyer employee on Usenet-call.

Try to be less transparent?

That's the easy bit, the real test comes when something fecks up.

I suspect David has been one of the lucky ones. I know of several computer
fair traders and other colleagues in IT who have bought components from
Ebuyer in the past and many of them have stopped using Ebuyer due to the
fact that Ebuyer can't get the orders correct a lot of the time. Coupled to
this, their customer support is dire. Basically if you run a business, then
time is very important and if it takes seven days for someone to reply to an
enote (ebuyers own comms system) and another 14 days to sort the problem,
then that really isn't good enough and they deserve all the bad comments
they get.

A friend of mine just ordered a laptop from Ebuyer and an external USB 80GB
hard drive. The hard drive failed to arrive and was part of the whole
order. He now has to go through ebuyers pathetic return system which could
well take a couple of weeks to complete. This is really bad practice and
they should be addressing such issues urgently.

So David appears to be a lucky one IMO. No doubt his time WILL come, if
their present performance isn't improved.

ive bought 2 different things from them and both ended up refunding my
money because they took so long to fix the problem. not that bad actually
since on was a dvd burner that i paid over £100 for and when it broke, i
was able to get a much faster one for £46

as a warning im sure i read on the usenet somewhere they were going bust
but then it could be some troll.

Then why didn't you warn him before he placed his order, since your
experience of Ebuyer is so extensive.

I use them regularly, they are well priced, they handle returns OK, AND
my local CityLink guys are efficient. On Monday the driver turned up
with a couple of items from Ebuyer, and the 10 minutes later the branch
manager turned up in his car with another item which had been left off
the van.

For every Ebuyer whinger who turns up on Usenet, there are thousands of
happy customers out there............

Toodle Pip!
