I listen to some internet radio stations.

How can I display the technical info of the audio stream? (Type of
compression, bit rate, etc.)

Is there some software which can do it?

Mine does that automagically. But that's Linux.

You probably need to NOT use a popup or embedded media player, but a
separate one.
