Anyone here use the Apple forums please?
https://discussions.apple.com/

For over a week I've been getting a 'We'll be back soon' message' in all
of them.

Occasionally I get to
https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa
but if I then click any link, such as iPad, I get that 'back soon' page.

Coming in via
http://www.apple.com/uk/ then Support
http://www.apple.com/uk/support/ then Communities
I'm once again back to
https://discussions.apple.com/backso...stempaway.html

Tried in both my usual Firefox and also in IE.

I've been browsing the forums everyday this week and have not noticed
anything wrong.

Using IE9 and both USA and UK sites.

Sorry I can't be of more help

Thanks anyway Len.

It's the same in IE and also on my iPad. And the issue is clearly confined
to the forum login. I can get to my Apple account and I can use the App
Store. All have same username.

What I need is some way to email a forum moderator. So far not found an
address. 'Contact' takes me round the same loop. Really exasperating!

Len: I missed that distinction earlier. Can you amplify please? What URL
are you using for "the UK sites"?

The reason I ask is that this is beginning to look like some sort of
're-direction' issue. IOW, when I enter a URL for an Apple iPad discussion
('community') forum it is automatically being redirected to that pesky
page.

Further, I *think* the reason is something to do with the distinction
between UK and US user support. Is there a separate URL for us UK users?
Has that changed recently? Are there UK user messages on the
https://discussions.apple.com forums or just USA users?

Also I note that when I do succeed in reaching
https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa
(i.e. it doesn't redirect *immediately*, which usually happens)
then at bottom right I see a USA logo.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4019461/Apple-Forum-Issue-2.jpg

So I interpret that as meaning I'm on a USA discussion page. (It certainly
*looks* different to what I recall a month or so ago, but maybe that's
because of recent major changes I gather took place?) That might explain
why I'm being re-directed, as I'm a UK user, identifiable as such by my IP
address.

But how do I get to the UK equivalent, if one exists at all?

In short, I'm still lost and need any help I can get please!

If I start from http://www.apple.com/uk/support/ and click on
communities I get to https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa
with the USA(English) graphic at the bottom right.
If I click on the USA (English) graphic it takes me back to my starting
page at http://www.apple.com/uk/support/.

So, it looks like there is only one forums site.
They have changed the forums layout recently .

One thing , when I clicked on the
https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa link in your post I got nowhere
at all but did arrive at that page through the communities link on
http://www.apple.com/uk/support/.

strange....

After more research plus half an hour on phone to Apple Support it seems
that it's caused by either my BT Home Hub 2.0 router configuration (which
I've not touched since its installation many months ago), my Windows XP
Firewall settings (never go near it) or some settings by my ISP, BT
Broadband.

So I'll post a new thread, as the subject now seems on topic and not Apple
related.
