Orinoco Silver card Setup

Do you have the Network Name set to either blank or "ANY". Then it should
associate with any AP in the area.

Firstly Merry Xmas

Right. I have a Set up with a Dell366/Win 98se a Orinoco silver card and Net
Stumbler. I went a Drive around the Otherday . Around Town and around a
couple of Tech parks But not 1sniff.or anything

What am I doing wrong ? Is it the set up or the card.?

The card is installed in 98se and shows up as a ORiNOCO PC Card 5V driver is
AgereSystems 9-22-2003

With Net stumbler 0.3.30 running it gives the following info on the card

Driver 7.82
Card version 4.02
Primary Firm ware 4.04
Station 9.42
MAC 00:02:2D:61:1C:B3
Serial 02UT41413505

I have read somewhere about setting the card into promiscuous mode But
cannot see where or how to do it.
I have also read about being a problem with versions 4x of the firmware. I
if so Is there anyway around it?
I have downloaded the latest firmware update (WSU_810) from the website but
have not tried it as yet Should I update or is there another way that I have
not found as yet?

Thanks for the reply

In the wireless setup (in the Control Panel)
Its set to Base station conection,
The network name is left Blank,
The "enable data Security is not ticked,
The Renew Ip in the TCP/IP is not ticked

In Net Stumbler the setings are In General
the folowing 3 are ticked
New doc starts scanning
Reconfig Card Auto
Qury AP for Names

The Save files Auto is not Ticked
