I have the one port version (despite ordering the 4 port from ebuyer but
that's another story).
Ideally, you want to run an ethernet cable from one port to PC 1 and another
to PC 2.
IIRC the usb cable is there to allow your computer to communicate with the
router using a windows based application and for updating firmware (don't
worry, unlikely you'll need to do this). My USB cable is still in the box as
I have set it up using the web interface and sometimes the telnet interface
(slightly less user friendly). I would recommend this as it means you don't
need to install any programs or drivers which could potentially conflict
with existing software/drivers on your PC(s)
With this router (i assume it is an adsl router and not a plain router?) you
do not dial-up from your PC anymore but let the router do it for you.
To setup the router simply plug the phone cable in (RJ11 adaptor) then
ethernet cables from the router to your PC(s) and turn on the router. Then
turn on your PCs and go to the following URL:
http://10.0.0.2/ It should
then walk you through the setup.
This should all be in the manual!?
One thing that isn't in the manual is that the setup options are reached by
going to:
http://10.0.0.2/doc/advance.htm
N.B. there are 101 things that I'm assuming in your setup such as the fact
you have a NIC in each PC and that you have setup network settings to be
acquired by DHCP.
