Orange LiveBox Installation

Hi guys;


i have just recived my livebox from orange and am following the
instructions. Inserted the CD and the program auto runs. I select the
first option from the three "Install Live Box For the first time" on
selecting this option it takes me straight to Appendix_1 of the livebox
help file, about disabeling the firewall.

problem being i have already disabled the firewall and no matter what i
do the instalation always take me to this part of the help file and
dosent procceed.


Has anyone experienced a simmilar problem

Make sure the ethernet cable is fully plugged in and then that your lan card
or onboard lan is enabled or even that the drivers are installed for it.

according to the instalation instructions you insert the cd first and
then follow the instructions the install gives you. so you dont connect
anything until further into the instalation but i dont get past this
firts stage??

Well you need the ethernet cable connected to configure it as it will not
see the router(livebox) until there is a wired connection. You can after
connecting an ethernet cable and the pc finds the router configure it via
the web interface and not even bother with the install disc. That way you
can set up the username and password manually and save settings which is all
thats needed for the wired connection so it connects with the internet.

Wireless setup then is easy as the easiest way is to use xp built in
wireless config and press the pairing button on the livebox and search for
the livebox network and type the security id in the 2 boxes making sure it
is in caps like its printed.

This assumes that your network card in your PC is working correctly.

Start > right-click my computer > properties > hardware > device manager
and check for a yellow ! or a red x next to your LAN card.

Same here man, exactly the same problem and nothing i do helps. But i
can also connect the wireless connection but it will not do anything (i
think this may be that i need to install the actual software first
though) =].
anyways jus thought u might like to know your not alone =[
