Ports that are being used for sharing of resources between machines on a
MS network for a NT based O/S are 137, 138 UPD and 139,445 TCP. Those are
the only ports that are required. Port 445 is for NT only, so 137, 138,
and 138 are required for the MS network for a machine running a MS O/S to
do File and Print Sharing.
Once again, if the wired connection on the machines can share resources
between each other, then there is nothing wrong with the configuration of
the machines or the router from that stand point. Now, either there is
some configuration issue with the wireless NIC or the NIC is defective in
some manner or the router itself is defective in some manner or has a
configured issue.
The setup is simple and if it don't work, then there may be something
that's not working with the equipment. There could be some mis-
configuration going on, but I tend not to think so at this point. There
could be some defectiveness either with the wireless side of the router
or the NIC itself on the LAN usage.
