Hi,

I look for an instant messaging system (something like ICQ) that we can
internally use in our small network (10 users). Obviously, what we need is
a server and clients. Do you know any open source applications for
this purpose?

Regards,
Chris

Use Jabber. Protocol, servers and most clients are open source.
Look at http://www.jabber.org/
