Open Folders using Web - WebDAV, SMB2 and other technologies

Currently a customer have a Novell solution used by remote users via VPN to
Open Files stored in Netware File Servers while connected in their homes. The
company decided to use NetStorage product because uesrs frequently complain
about performance of the file shares in ADSL connections.

May I use WEbDAV as substitute of the NetStorage or evaluate the
Vista/Win2008 use of the SMB2 protocol? I´m thinking if the SMB2 protocol
maybe solve the problem of the low performance of the user experience

I think you have to test it, to compare it with the novell solution. See
