Oh dear. I wonder if they've lost all those email informing customers
they've gone over their monthly download limit.

Whilst it was a big cockup on behalf of the engineer, that article is
typical sensationalism and The Register have presented it in a way to
exagerate things.

"PlusNet would know by Friday evening whether the deleted emails are gone
for good"

Well excuse me for believing I'd read that the data recovery people were
reporting that there was a 1% loss of data which may even just be system
files as opposed to customer data and that the eta on having the data
back to PlusNet was Thursday..

Old news or not, mistake or not, Plusnet continue to make monumental
cock-ups and customer PR disasters on any day ending in 'Y'...

Well we already know they've lost all the LLU warning emails as no one
has been told, apparently.

What you read was Plusnet 'spin' [read : further lies and deceipt] to
lessen the fallout.

This was a massive cock-up, period. No excuses.

It should NEVER have happened, and is yet another item to add to the
rather long list of issues borne out of Plusnet incompetence that users
have had to put up with for way too long.

Perhaps that's the "1%" that's been lost for good?

Sorry to say but they aren't the worst ISP I've been with in the last
10 years, believe it or believe it not, one is going to be rebadged in
the very near future & another has changed hands & changed it business
plan after making monumental cock ups like removing servers so they
could run LAN parties (kid you not). Which is one reason I'm still
hanging on in there, everything is changing so fast what was great one
day is bad the next week.
