Only admins are able to access my Windows 2003 file server

Recently I got a BSOD on the file server when rebooting from a windows
patch. Since then, none of my users have been able to access the file
server. I can only access the file server as a user with admin privileges
on the domain. Security event log ID 529 appears in the event log of the
file server, denoting unknown user name or bad password whenever I try to
log in as a domain user. I can log-on to the domain on my XP clients no
problem and access TCP port 445 on all my domain controllers and print
servers. it is only this machine which has the issue. I seem to remember
solving this issue on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server machine about 18 months
ago, but I cannot find my notes.

This is a Windows 2003 native active directory domain with XP and 2003
machines.

Anybody remember the solution? I thought it might be buried in KB823659,
but I was mistaken?

Thanks in advance.

Why not remove it from the domain and then add it back in to ensure the
computer account is not corrupt?

Sounds like the secure channel between the file server
and domain is out of synch:

Resetting Domain Member Secure Channel
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;175024

In this case if the file server is no longer trusted by the
domain it will check it's local user accounts database
before denying access instead of passing the credentials
to the domain controller for authentication.

Did not set ALL of my "CrashOnAuditFail" registry keys to 0.
