OneTel / Talk Talk outage

Anyone know what the problem is with OneTel / Talk Talk? My broadband
connection has been down since this time yesterday. The status freefone
line says that they are aware of a problem and are working on it, but
gives no indication as to when the service will be back. I am posting
this via Free Dial-up (which of course is not free, it's an 0845
number.) I wonder if OneTel (who also provodes my phone service) will
give me the money back.

There were major power problems in part of a data center in London
yesterday at ~12.50pm (Telehouse North). I don't know if this is
affecting you, but the timing is close.

Thanks, Paul. Yes, my router log showed that I lost the connection at
about that time. It's been down ever since. I guess that's it. I'm
pretty amazed that it is taking so long to fix the problem, though.

It's back now. 28 hours to fix a mishap caused by a test. Oh well, at
least it wasn't as bad as Chernobyl...

Not all ISPs took that long...

Free? Who are you kidding? OneTel now is one of the more expensive. At
the time I went with them there wasn't much in it, so it was
convenient, as I had phone and mobile services through them, and they
were one of the few that offered a fixed IP address. But I'm still
paying £24 a month, and since I had to sign a new agreement to get the
speed upgraded I can't switch, even though they seem to have gone
downhill since they were taken over by the car phone mob.
