I have a wired network using a Microsoft MN-100 router. This network has
been running since last November with no problems. I use Road Runner as my
ISP. It is connected to a cable modem, which then runs to the MN-100, where
it then goes to the base computer and to another room. Just yesterday, the
computer in the other room won't connect to the internet. The base computer
(and the one I'm using right now) can connect to the internet. I have
rebooted both computers, reviewed both connections, checked options under
internet tools, no Device Mgr conflicts, properties of Network Neighborhood
indicates connection to our printer, no new install of a firewall, Windows,
or IE, no viruses, pings fine, sent 4 pings and returned all 4, tried the
laptop in another room with a different cable connection - same thing -
nothing seems to work. Tried Internet Wizard to create a new connection -
didn't work. Was thinking that maybe something has happened to IE 6? Tried
to Repair IE 6, but still no connection. Is there a way to uninstall IE 6.0
and then reinstall it? I have the Windows 98 SE disc, but not sure where IE
is?
Any thoughts or suggestions?
