Will one 802.11b device make you g network 11Mbps?

Will one 802.11b device make your router and NIC that is 802.11g dumb down
to 802.11b bandwidth? Seems like I've heard this before. In other words
would connecting a 802.11b print server on a 802.11g network slow down the
network?

This document explains - 11g with 11b effectively reduces the 11g rate
down to around double the 11b rate.
