Can anyone help me? I have a 1999 manufactured desktop
which is the HP VA 6/200 Pentium II "Vectra". Just went
down the road with a Motorola Wireless PCI card which
locked up the PC (as in 'will not boot up') as soon as
inserted. Never gets past Power On Self Test (POST)
phase...but take the card out and everything is A-OK.
Motorola tech support says 'no can do' and this is a known
problem for their particular cards because motherboard is
16-bit old style and their cards are all 32-bit.

Is the Microsoft MN-730 card going to give me the same
headache? Anyone have an old PC that is working with the
Microsoft brand WIRELESS cards?

PC is Win98 Second Edition.

Please post or (preferably) email me.

Tim

If you want wireless in your case go with a USB adapter like the MN-510
or the new MN-710. I doubt most modern network cards on the market will
work on a 16-bit PCI slot.
