That would be a repeater.
What you have is a wireless router, which is a combination of a wired
router and a built in AP, and then the DWL-2000AP, configured as another
AP, that needs to be wired to something.
There are several possibilities.
You could just add a reflector to your original router and see if that
gives you enough signal boost to work without the second device.

The DWL-2000AP has other modes. Some might only operate nicely with
another DLink product. I'm not sure. You didn't say what router you had.
1- repeater, which is what you intended.
2- wire to the 2000, and have it as a second AP, which is what you have.
3- wireless from the first router to the 2000 in client mode, and then wire
directly to a remote PC.
4- point to point bridge, if you had some other wired devices in the remote
location.
