Hi, I am new in wireless thing...I have this situation and don't know
it I have the concept clear.
This is the case:
I have wireless network that works well (an AP that connect to the
cabled network in the office). I have a laptop with a wireless card
that connects ok with the AP (and I can see all the pc in the cabled
network), until this point all is ok, now I am trying to configure
other AP-2000 that will be far away from the office. Here enters the
problem, I configured the AP-2000 with the same network name, with the
same chanel, with the same password that the laptop. From the laptop,
with the "Client manager" program I can see the AP-2000 card with good
link and the AP card, it seems to be good according to what I have
read, my question is?
When I take out the laptop wireless card and connect the laptop with
the AP-2000 via crossed cable, (the AP-2000 is configured as DHCP), I
can ping the AP-2000 but I can not ping any pc from the cabled network.
Which means that the laptop can see the AP-2000 (wired and cabled) but
the AP-2000 does not see the AP nor the cabled network.
How can I test the AP-2000 card with the AP and the cabled network,
without the laptop.
Thanks in advance for any comment.
