Odd Win98SE to Win2k Server Problem

Ok, here is an odd one for you all. I had to do a clean install of one the
Win98SE systems here. I setup the Windows client as always and I have done
dozens of times before. When the system boots-up, it skips the login
process and the system does not connect to our domain. In order to get it
to connect, I need to click "Log Off.." (yes there is no username shown).
Only then does the user get a login prompt and can login fine.

I have tried everything I can think of and have had no luck. I have tried
removing and reinstalling all clients and protocols. I have even tried to
add the user's login name to the registry for an automatic login (yuck). No
luck. Every time the system boots, it skips the login process.

Any ideas on what it could be?

TIA,

Stevan,

Sorry, I got so busy yesterday I completely forgot about this problem.
Thank you for offering something else to try. I tried your suggestion and
still no luck.

The only occurrence I found for AutoLogon was under:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Network/Real Mode Network.

Anything else you can think of?

That's the one (actually it's RealModeNet)

Just delete autologon entirely. It's a very common problem.

Jim.

Jim,

Thanks, deleting it did the trick. I have never had that problem before.
