Odd TFTP requirements

I´m running a TFTP server which maintains configuration files for two
different models of ATA's. For one of these models, everything works fine.
For the other, however, the firmware of the device tries to download a
filename that has a / in it. Yes, it sounds odd, but that's what the
firmware does, and I can't change it. Is it possible to work around this?
Thanks in advance.
