Odd Orinoco Gold Error

So my Orinoco Classic Gold card has gone a little flaky. It frequently
drops out, so I take the card out of my IBM thinkpad t23 Win2k and
reinsert it. Sometimes I get a dialog: Found new hardware and the line
Duceft_tec`fgdggaes WaveDAF'AEEE. It then tries to find a new driver
for the card. If I take it out again and reinsert, everything's
usually fine. I've reflashed the firmware and reinstalled the driver.
What else can I do???
