odd mail prob

I have three machines connected through a Neargear wireless DSL router. 2
machines run Windows98se, a Dell Optiplex Gx1and a Gateway Profile. A Dell
Inspiron 4150 is running XP.

All machines have Zonealarm firewall. All of them can access the web, but
the XP cannot find the other connected machines though the Netgear config
page shows all machine are connected devices.

Now...

The Optiplex will retrieve mail when I first boot it, prehaps twice. Then I
start to get this error for all of my POP3 accounts

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'abcdefg', Server: 'incoming.mydomain.net', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Yet, I can still send mail and still access the newsgroups. The other
machines continue to send and receive without messages.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks

Looks like Zonelaram may not be terminating the SSL mapping whereas Outlook
Express may have closed the port.
Try disabling ZoneAlarm and checking again to see if the error goes away.

Thanks. I found an alert on the Symantec site informing me that Norton
Antivirus 2003 cannot pass ZoneAlarm's Internet Lock under Windows98.
