Odd connection problem

I have the MN-100 Wired base and two pcs, each running
Windows XP. The ethernet/modem line goes into the wall to
connect to a router which is connected to the Satellite
Internet provider.

Base station is setup as a router also, as I need to share
the one connection to the internet to two machines, the
link being the MN-100.

Internet access works great for both machines. However,
the connection between the two machines through the MN-100
must constantly be reestablished by refreshing one or the
other machine's Broadband Utility software app.

Any ideas why the connection between the two computers
keeps failing?

Each machine gets and keeps an internal IP address from
the MN-100 DHCP services. Is there an IP conflict. Keep in
my, these two computers do not connect to any other
network. We are just using the internet pass through from
the main router. No network authentication takes place.
Both machines have the same workgroup (MSHOME) and both
have no hard coded IP settings.

Assuming what you have is:
Satellite <-> modem/router <-> MN500 <=> 2 PC's

You can check the IP's of the PC by running Command Prompt
and entering ipconfig /all (this assuming you are using
XP). The IP's should be different, and start by 192.168.2.

I would start by checking for any software firewalls
running on the computers or Windows ICF and turn them off.

If this does not resolve the problem, try assigning static
IP's to each PC (e.g. 192.168.2.2 to the 1st one and
192.168.2.3 to the 2nd; mask is 255.255.255.0, DNS and
gateway 192.168.2.1)
