O2 Broadband - no Newsgroups?

Just spoken to O2 re: their broadband service - and it seems they have no
newsservers (or, at least the sales dept said they hadn't - but she didn't
seem all that sure).

Anyone know more?

D.
(desperate to leave the dial-up speeds on VM ThinBand.)

Not a problem. A $10 single payment non-expiring 25GB subscription to astraweb
will probably last you a couple of years or so.

Yes, that is correct. O2 and Be do not provide newsgroups

I use a freebie, nntp.aioe.org

Thanks for the confirmation. It was just that the "sales" person was very
unsure (to begin with I was not convinced she knew what newsgroups were ;-).
As O2 they are offering an ADSL deal that's £10 cheaper than VM for what
seems to be the same offering (bar NGs), and an 0800 UK support number I
don't think there's any reason not be requesting my MAC...

Thanks to you and all.

D.

And this one
http://news.individual.net/
Only 10 euros a *year*
I've used it for years. Very fast and reliable.

I made the mistake of asking Vodafone if they supported Usenet. They had no
idea what I was talking about.

Precisely what effect will all these O2 deals have on existing BeThere
subscribers?
