I agree. The admin problem that BT have is that they use the telephone
number to refer to the physical line for a variety of purposes. That's
not necessarily a problem provided everything which uses such a
refernece gets automatically updated when the mapping (between number
and physical line) changes. Unfortunately that updating doesn't happen
- so it's very definitely a problem.
