Hi,
I have a site that is having issues with performance of an application
between two servers. One server acts as a file server running win2k, and the
other is a win2k3 server making smb calls to the file server. CPU load /
Memory, etc... on both servers are easily in the 10-25% range which would
rule load out as an issue. What I did find was an excessive amount of
retransmit errors between the two using the ntttcp tool. The win2k3 server
sending to the win2k server results in 6295 retransmit errors. The win2k
server sending to the win2k3 server results in 14 retransmit errors. I would
like to know, what an acceptable amount of retransmit errors between two
servers. I know single digits would be perfect, but what is horrible / or
would cause issues?
Thanks,
mac
