ADSLGuide probably has something about it. Bear in mind tho that NTL
is an ISP while ADSL is a technology. You really need to pick an ISP
to compare to NTL.

NTL is theoretically quite a bit faster download speed for the basic
service (from june NTL will be 750K vs 512K on adsl), but slower
upload (128 vs 256). NTL's news servers are hopeless for binaries, but
then so are most cheap ISP's and there arae plenty of good news
services which you can use instead. NTL's mail is often delayed, but
then others too have this problem. Everyone is inundated with spam on
all networks. And everyone (with some honorable exceptions) has dire
customer service.
FWIW personally I find NT fine for usenet and general browsing. I
could get ADSL for probably 80 quid p/a less, but it'd be 2/3 the
speed, and I'd be taking a risk with an unknown cheapo service
provider. I'm not a gamer nor a P2Per tho.
