Interesting - BT$'s claim that it is the biggest
is clearly a 'lie' as their retail division hasn't
won enough customers to beat NTL.
They should never have been allowed to dangle that 5m wholesale
numbers as it is 'stealing' from other ISPs
who did all the actual work!

Did you even read the 5th paragraph about the claim from BT that they had
1.491m Retail BB customers? Notice that NTLs figure for comparison with BT
is from their own analysis (even I can push a pin into a piece of paper
covered in numbers), not from a published BT figure.

The only way to get the correct figures for something like this is from an
independent review.

And the 5m figure was never touted from BT as it's own customer base for BB,
it clearly stated it was a wholesale figure.

As usual, that moron "7" only sees what "it" wants to see, and hence
believes what it wants to believe.

Oh for fuck sake!
You just don't get it.
Read the words - BT$ are claiming THEY connected 5 millionth customer.
If BAA claims its flown 10 million passengers, there will be an uproar.
It doesn't fly anything.

BT$ broadband doesn't sell anything to the public.
Its sheer buggery to boast 5 millionth ADSL line sold
when its other companies out there thats doing the selling.
This was all planned to get them off the hook of breakup.
They sold 1.4m lines, which is lower than NTL.
They should be broken up. If private companies are doing
a better job of selling 3.6m lines, then where is the need for
btbroadband? particularly as it shows favoritism to btretail
in order to get hold 1.4m customers from other vendors who
are likely doing a better job?
How come UKonline is giving 8mbit with 500GB per month
allowance and BT$ can't? BT$ is highly inappropriate organisation
for today's telecommunications needs.

I am no fan of BT. I think their pricing structure is poor, customer
service weak and ineffectual and strategy poorly thought-out. However, I
like idiots even less. Did you read what someone else had written about BT,
or did you read the actual press release? Or did you read neither and just
make something up based on your own prejudices?

What BT said was this: "This week BT will connect its five millionth
wholesale broadband customer". They didn't mention 'sold' and it's
abundantly clear from the press release (the announcement is linked from the
front page of www.bt.com in case you're struggling to find it) that they are
crowing about their wholesale rather than retail business.

So where were they lying, obfuscating or dissembling? Please cite.

No they didn't. You obviously ignored the word "wholesale". And that
paragraph was an aside to the actual figures being quoted in the previous
paragraphs.

So who do you think you're paying when you sign up to BT Broadband? Twat.

No, NTL sold less than 1.4. Read the article.

So you'd rather people didn't have the choice of signing up with BT? Isn't
that an opposing strategy to your view that there should be more choice?

eeds.

Because UKonline only offer this on a small number of exchanges. BT are (or
are about to be) offering 8mbps on a selected number of trial exchanges,
with rollout countrywide afterwards. Your hatred of BT seems to blind you to
what they are doing.

Woo hoo, another one for the killfile. What a retard.
