The ntl website was predicting my upgrade from 150K to 300K in
October. My October bill says 300K but the website is now saying
December. Sob, sob!!

For the GBP17.99 you're paying per month for 150/64 ntl: service (which
will, in time, become 300/64), you could have 256/256 ADSL service with
Zen when next month's Zen price cuts come into effect.

Indeed, there's 512/256 ADSL deals to be had for the same sort of money.

Of course, you would need a BT phone line, but I had one of those anyway
(you can usually pay less for your phone calls with a BT line than you
can with an ntl: phone line).

I recently moved away from ntl:'s cable modem service, and don't regret
doing so. Web browsing, in particular, is much more responsive on Zen
ADSL - possibly because of the lack of "transparent" proxies.

Have you tried just in the off chance .. rebooting your Cable Modem?
Worked for me and a few others.

My modem has been rebooted twice in the last 2 days (electrical work
elsewhere in the house). I haven't noticed any change.

And lo a miracle. According to the ZDNet speed test, I'm now
cooking with Calor.
