NTL - Slow Upload Speed?

Hello,

As a new 2MB NTL Broadband customer I'm disappointed to find that my
upload speed is 183.7 Kbps ( = 0.2 Mbps ) at best, as tested using the
speed test at www.adslguide.org.uk, download is OK at 1,925.1 Kbps ( =
1.9 Mbps )

NTL say that the upload and download speed should be 2MB.

I would be interested to hear others views experience on NTL upload
speeds.

David

NTL is not symmetric (i.e. upload speed=download speed). The upload speed
you measured is correct.

Search for "upload speed" on http://www.home.ntl.com/page/broadbandquestions

Hello John,

Thanks, having been assured by the sales droids that it was 2MB each
way, I can see now that it's not. The page you posted says 2MB / 200k
and that's what I'm getting

Hi David, i work for NTL:Telewest.

Yes, the download speed you get should be 2Mb, but uploads are only
0.2Mb at the moment on all NTL B/band packages.

Hi David,

Would you mind posting your NTL criticisms in the ntl cable news groups that the
public can't access because as the nations 'favourite' broadband we don't want
people to know just how shite it is.

Cable, if you can, read 'Which?' first............

well just to help you in the future if someone call you at work and
ask. That statement is wrong its not .2mb for all NTL B/band packages.
2mb = 200k upload
4mb = 400k upload
10mb = 500k upload
