I saw a website posting about NTL limiting upload bandwidth if you
uploaded at more than a certain speed.

[QUOTE] i do not recommed going any faster then 11k on NTL as thay
will limit it to 8k up (for small time) if you upload to fast and
downloads will be limited [UNQUOTE]

Does anyone know more info about what the poster is referring to
when he writes about 11k and 8k?

This is pretty obvious. However, the person who has written this
rubbish has no clear knowledge himself either. What is being referred
to is the saturation of ACK packets over TCP/IP.

AFAIK NTL don't limit the upload bandwidth, why would they when the upload
is either 128kb or 256kb depending on your service. I *think* the poster
may have meant saturating the upload, that means if your upload is running
at full speed then you'll severely limit any downloads you may have
running.

Bill
