I have the 1mb service. Speed is very good but almost twice a day now, my
Sync and Rdy lights will go out and I'll lose connectivity. This can last
from anywhere between 30 seconds or an hour, and as you can imagine is
driving me mad. The last time I phoned NTL about it they sent an engineer
out to check the installation. Surprise surprise he found nothing wrong.

3 other friends close by have the service and they dont experience the same
fault. Coiuld this be anything to do with the amount of data I'm downloading
?

Thanks for any help...

More likely to be fluctuating signal levels than anything else....

It could be the attenuation on your junction-box. there's a little
widget on the junction-box, threaded on the inside at each end, with a
coloured strip round it. The strip colour-codes for the level of
attenuation.

I once had an engineer come round and test the line; he left me with a
couple of them, so I could swap them in and out myself, in the event
that the signal-level changed *again*.
