Hi,

Is it possible to connect to the ntl 250 router and configure it? I
used to be able to connect to my BT router via a web browser, at
address 192.168.1.1 (if i remember correctly), but this doesn't work
with the ntl router.

My connection is OK, I just want to stop amulebeing firewalled.

The normal answer will be no, but it is possible to crack them. NTL
do not look kindly upon anybody who does so (loss of account etc etc)
& it won't make any difference for your Emule apps as it's filtered at
a stage further into NTL's network on their (non) transparent proxies

The NTL 250 isn't a router, it's a cable modem, so there's nothing to
configure. All you need do, is connect via ethernet, set your Linux box to
DHCP, power off modem and linux box, wait say 30 secs or so, turn on modem,
let it settle, then boot linux box.

It's not a router... but you can connect to it with 192.168.100.1, and login as
root, no password.

No configuring can be done though - only looking at signal levels etc....

Emule? Does that connect to open nap servers? If so there is no filtering
done by ntl as the open nap servers are readily accesible and
downloads/uploads appear to work. Gnutella and piolet work too.
