ntl broadband - billion router problem

I am setting up a home network with the billion router BIPAC-640 AE
connecting to my NTL modem via ethernet. The modem itself is working
fine when connected individually to each PC but the PC's cannot seem
to connect through the router.

The configuration is as per instructions but its seems there is a
problem with the DHCP communication.

I have actually had the network working twice but all attempts since
have failed.

I'm not sure if it is an ethernet, router hardware or router
configuration problem, can anyone help??

Thanks in advance.

If you think it's a dhcp problem the try setting the PCs ethernet addresses
and default gateway manually.

Hi

Have you powered the router off for a period of time? You need to do that
when using a new device on the NTL network, you could also try spoofing the
MAC address of the original PC you had connected to the CM.

If you still have problems have a look in the NTL forum at
www.cm-forums.co.uk where this has been discussed many time.

HTH

You do not need to anymore.

Yes, I know about the MAC 'limit' - I thought it was a max of two in any
24hrs.

I still thought you had to power-off the cable modem for it to recognise
the new MAC address, that's what I'd been tol. As you can tell I'm not an
NTL customer but thanks for the info.

I was always of the believe it was three? I've certainly managed 3
different MAC addresses witnin a few hours.

Hmm. Do you mean if you want to assign a completely new MAC address
with the cable modem? If so, there's no reason why this cannot be done
from NTLs https://autoregister page.

: NTL customer

Well, neither am I anymore. However, I was for just over 2 years
