NT Domain LSA/SAM Problems

I think have a problem with the sych or communication within my PDC and BDC
or something very odd. We run ghost images from a boot disk and if I have
my BDC online, they error out with access denied until I do a full sync of
the database or shut down the netlogon service on the BDC. This happens
every time. If I leave the BDC offline or shutdown the NETLOGON service, I
don't have a problem and it only occurs with a particular BDC, we have
others that are in the domain that do not cause this problem. I have tried
using netdom and nltest and it has not corrected the problem. Any ideas or
any help in troubleshooting this would be appreciated.

What is the relationship between this BDC and Ghost?

It authenticates logins so a drive can be mapped to run the ghost app and
images.

Ok. Well, I don't know what to make of the BDC either. I'd probably just
reload it from scratch and forget it. NT never took that long to do and
you'd spend a lot more time troublshooting it than it would take to reload
it.

As far as Ghost, I never use mapped drives. I always use GhostServ (Ghost
Server) and do the imaging work that way. Then you don't even need a DOS
client on the floppy at all,...all it needs is the Nic Drivers and the Ghost
App does the rest on its own.

Thanks. We are looking at a product called NetInstall from NetSupport that
we will be using to replace ghost in the future, so I just need a temporary
fix. I was hoping to avoid rebuilding the BDC, but it looks like its coming
down to that.
